For Subscribers and Website Visitors (collectively “Users”)
Information Gathered
Non-personal Information. Evy Writes uses Jetpack which has a tool that collects User information to better understand your use of the Website. This includes referring site, content visited, and the date and time of each visit. These data are aggregated into statistics to show usage trends of the Website.
We also collect information from Users leaving comments on the site (see Comments below). This type of information and all personal information that identifies users are kept private and confidential except under conditions described below in the section Protection and Disclosure of Information.
Personal, Identifying Information. Evy Writes gathers personal information that identifies individual Users who choose to interact with Evy Writes in certain ways. Each Subscriber/Follower of Evy Writes newsletters must provide a username and email address. We may run giveaways/contests that require some identifying information such as email addresses. We may also ask you to answer questions about your reading interests and preferences. When you win a giveaway/contest, you will be asked to provide your mailing address. We collect such information only as needed to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Evy Writes. You can refuse to supply personal information, but that may prevent you from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Protection and Disclosure of Information
Evy Writes discloses personal information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when the Website believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of the Administrator or the public. If you are an Evy Writes subscriber/follower, we will occasionally send you newsletters to tell you about new books and features, solicit your feedback, or keep you up to date with what’s going on at Evy Writes. If you send us a request via email or our Contact Form, we reserve the right to publish it if it helps us respond to your request or if it helps us support other users.
Evy Writes takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of all information that can identify each individual User.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on Evy Writes, we ask for email addresses and filter comments using Akismet, an automated spam detection service.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your Gravatar is visible to the public along with your comment.
You may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website when you comment. These are stored as cookies so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you make future comments. These cookies are kept for one year.
A comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and automatically approve any follow-up to the comment instead of holding it for moderation.

Miscellaneous. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the California, U.S.A., excluding its conflict of law provisions, and the proper venue for any disputes arising out of or relating to use of Evy Writes will be the state and federal courts located in Alameda County, California. Except for claims for injunctive or equitable relief or claims regarding intellectual property rights (which may be brought in any competent court without the posting of a bond), any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be finally settled in accordance with the Comprehensive Arbitration Rules of the Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Service, Inc. (“JAMS”).
